Louis Oosthuizen, the South African golfer has been successful in winning the Volvo Golf Champions held in Durban for the second time in a row. Last year too he won the championship and this year too he has done it again.
He went one shot clear of his closest opponent Branden Grace and won it in 12 under while birding the last two holes. The champion won the tournament with a four under par while Tommy Fleetwood the Englishman finished in the third spot with as close as a level par with 72 points.
Along with him the third spot was shared by Joost Luiten from Netherlands who finished with 10 under. Unlike other years this year has been a lot closer and towards the end it was really hard to tell who would win the tournament. But the last two holes gave Louis the edge over the others and he managed to put them in quite confidently.
Grace and Oosthuizen were going neck by neck with both of them stuck to 10 under after the initial rounds. In fact Grace had a slight advantage too when Oosthuizen dropped a shot when he was on the 10th. However he managed successive birdies in his 13th and 14th holes which gave him a massive boost and he moved to 11th under. Grace who was closing in from behind made a par in the first five holes out of the back nine and then bogeyed in the 15th which kept him two shots away from Oosthuizen.
After that he did manage to square things up after a 35 foot birdie putt and also birdied the last which gave him a target at 11 under. After the 16th Oosthuizen was actually trailing when he triple bogeyed seven in the third round and also dropped a shot on Sunday.
