Organizers of the Travellers Championship 2014 at the TPC River Highlands have announced that two of the most impressive golfers of the PGA tour, Matt Kuchar and Dustin Johnson, have committed to take part in the prestigious competition which will be held from June 16th to 22nd. The organizers have expressed their joy at the number of talent which will be playing at the tournament and it will sure be quite helpful for the image and collections of the tournament.
The new season has been quite exceptional for Dustin Johnson who currently finished 3rd in the Fed Ex Cup and then ninth in the OWGR (Official World Golf Rankings). It was only been few months into the season, and the American has already achieved five top 10 finishes in his last six competitions. It included two runners up places at Northern Trust Open and AT&T Pebble Beach National Pro-Am and also a win at the World Golf Championships-HSBC Champions event and two second-place finishes at the AT&T Pebble Beach National Pro-Am and Northern Trust Open.
World number 11 Matt Kucher has also made a great start to the season which saw him complete four finishes in the top 10 and also rank 41st in the Fed Ex Cup. He has been quite consistent with his performance in the PGA Tours and he holds the most number of top 10 PGA Tour finishes from 2010 (41 out of 102 starts). Matt Kucher will be looking to add a victory to his record and the competition will be huge boost.
The additions of the two talented golfers will bolster the existing rooster of the Patrick Reed, Brandt Snedeker, Bubba Watson, Hunter Mahan and also the defending champion Ken Duke. The tickets of the TPC Championship event are already available for the crowd and according to the organizers, it is doing quite well.
